About the Friends
Supporting Savernake Hospital and the Community
The Friends was established in 1958, then, under the name of “The League of Friends of the Marlborough Hospitals” (Savernake Hospital and the Children’s Hospital on the Common). One of its founders was Ray White, a significant figure in the Marlborough Community.
As a charity, the Friends provides financial support in the form of grants to individuals and organisations involved in healthcare within Marlborough and the surrounding areas, as well as being actively involved in the everyday life of Savernake Hospital, and has established and runs the hospital shop.
